Stop "Feeling" Good About Your Sales. You're Flying Blind.
Ask a solopreneur how their month is going, and you'll get a lot of "feeling" words.
"It feels pretty good, I'm feeling busy." "I think I'm making progress." "I feel like I'm this close to landing a big client."
As a team-of-one, it's dangerously easy to run your entire business on "vibes." You don't have a sales manager, a board, or a team to hold you accountable. You only have you.
The problem? "Feelings" don't pay the bills. And "busy" is not a business metric.
The "Vanity Metric" Trap
The second you try to fix this, you fall into another trap: tracking everything.
You open 50 different dashboards. You're tracking website visits, 10-second video views, new followers, email open rates, and "time on page." You're drowning in data, but you still have no idea what's actually working.
You're mistaking activity for progress.
Most of these are "vanity metrics." They make you feel good, but they don't tell you the story of a sale. They're noise.
The "Signal in the Noise"
This is Component 5 of my KYSS (Keep Your Sales Simple) philosophy. You must find the "signal in the noise."
When you're running a sales-driven business, you don't need 50 KPIs. You need a handful of numbers that tell you the entire story—from the first "hello" to the final "closed deal."
For a solopreneur, a simple, public scoreboard (even if it's just for you) is the ultimate accountability. It's the "glass house" that forces you to be honest about your performance. No more "feeling" like you had a good week. You either hit your numbers, or you didn't.
In my 15-minute e-book, KYSS: Keep Your Sales Simple, I give you the only 5 metrics you need to run your entire sales operation.
I'll give you The "Big 5" Metrics (and only five!) that will replace 50 vanity metrics.
I'll show you how these 5 numbers work together to tell a story and instantly diagnose exactly where your sales process is broken.
You'll learn my "Accountability Metric" (Calls Made vs. Leads Claimed) that stops you from "hoarding" leads and letting them go cold.
You'll get my non-negotiable standard for "Meeting Effectiveness" (Deals Created vs. Meetings Booked) to ensure you're not just having "nice chats."
This blog post is the "why." The e-book gives you the "how."
